How to Make Mash Channa Dal Recipe Black split lentil and Split Chickpeas




How to make Mash Channa Dal. Urad and chana dal cooked in spices with pure/Desi ghee tarka. Easy to make. This lentil recipe is full of dietary fibre, lean protein, potassium, calcium and vitamin k. Vegetarian recipe.


Ingredients for Mash Chana Dal:
¾ cup chana dal 1/3 cup mash dal chilkay wali (split urad dal) 1 small onion, finely sliced 6-7 garlic pods Salt to taste 1 ½ tsp red chili powder 1 tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp coriander powder 2 tbsp. ginger julienne 2-3 tbsp. fresh coriander, chopped ¼ cup pure/Desi ghee or oil
Directions:
1.Wash Chana lentil and let it boil in 4 cups of water, garlic pods, salt, red chili, turmeric and coriander
powder on medium high flame till it is half cooked. 2.Then, add pre washed mash dal into Chana dal, cover and cook until both lentils cooked completely. 3.When both lentils are done take one cup of the lentil mixture and blend. Add this blended mixture back to lentil pot, mix and cover. Turn off the flame. 4.In a small pan add ghee, onions and ginger, fry until light golden brown. Pour over the lentil and cover for 5 minutes. 5.Finally add chopped coriander and serve hot with homemade roti/chapatti. 6.It tastes so good with fresh onion salad.
NOTES: Always use pure ghee with this lentil curry for extremely delicious flavor.
