Kashmiri Chai Recipe- Pink Tea - Gulabi Chai Recipe Step By Step In Urdu




Learn how to make Kashmiri chai at home step by step. Kashmiri chai is also known as noon chai, pink chai and gulabi chai. It's a traditional tea from Kashmir. It is a part of Kashmiri culture to drink this beverage 2−3 times a day with traditional Kashmiri breads and pastries like lavasa, sheermal, kandir tchot, bakarkhani and kulcha. Ingredients for Kashmiri Chai (Pink tea) 2 cups of water, room temperature 2 tsp green tea 2 pinches baking soda (Meetha soda) 2 pinch salt 1 pinch nutmeg powder 1 pinch mace powder 4 green cardamoms 2 cloves 2 tbsp. pistachio crushed 2 tbsp. almonds crushed 3-4 tbsp. sugar, add more if you want 2 ½ cups of full fat milk 1 ½ cup ice cold water
Method: 1.Over high heat, pour 2 cups of water into pot and let it boil. 2.After boiling, add 2 tsp green tea and let it cook for 10 minutes on medium flame. 3.Then, add baking soda for that pink color, also add salt, green cardamoms and cloves. Mix and allow it to cook for another 10 minutes on medium flame. 4.After 10 minutes, turn off the flame and start adding ice cold water gradually and stir vigorously for 3-4 minutes. 5.Now, turn on the flame again, add nutmeg and mace powder, pistachio, almonds and milk. Instantly you will see original pinkish color. 6.Finally add sugar according to your taste, mix, cover and simmer for 5 minutes on very slow flame. 7.Sieve the chai, garnish with pistachios and almonds or fresh cream for more rich taste.
